EPA Biomass CO2 Proposal Expected To Exclude Agricultural Residues

EPA’s pending proposed rule that is expected to define sustainably sourced biomass power as carbon neutral for regulatory purposes is not expected to widen the scope of the agency’s current policy to various types of agriculture residues, sources say, despite an extended push by the agricultural sector. The long-awaited proposal is continuing to move through the process of inter-agency review at the White House even amid the coronavirus pandemic.
